Practical 6:  Web Page Design.

FreeTV Website.

 

I designed the logo to the left for the FreeTV website. 

 

I enjoy the classic and powerful contrast between black and white so I chose to stick with simple black text. 

 

Next, I wanted a way to fit the word free into the image that didn't crowd the other components, so I lined the letters down the "t" as you can see. 

 

Next, I decided I did want a hint of colour in there and selected the television test pattern to achieve that.

 

Finally, I chose to restrict the broadcast range of the station to the Waikato region so thought it appropriate that that fact was reflected in the logo.
 

 

Discarded Designs.

 

I discarded these designs but thought it worth featuring them here for interests sake.

 

As you can see, I initially wanted to represent Hamilton with the balloons in the background. 

 

2.  This was my very first attempt.
3.  This is my favourite of the three.  I think the fonts I chose here were attractive and effective.
4.  Too much colour and too much variation in the font types made this one too crowded.
